Razz
Razz is a poker game variation
very similar to Seven Card Stud, only here the player only play for low
hands. Throughout the course of the game the players are dealt seven
cards and the best low five-card hand wins the pot. Unlike in Seven Card
Stud, in Razz there is no requirement for “8 or better”. Straights and
flushes do not count.

Opening the betting
At the beginning of the game, each
player pays an ante (a type of forced bet). All players are then dealt
three cards each – two of these cards are hole cards and one is an open
card. Then the player with the highest exposed card makes a small bet,
called bring-in to start the action and the betting continues clockwise.
Fourth Street
Every player is dealt a face-up card.
The player with the strongest (lowest) exposed hand is the firs to act –
they may either bet or check – and the betting round continues to the
left of that player.
Fifth Street
The players are dealt another face-up
card. The first player to act is again the one with the strongest
(lowest) hand and the round of betting continues.
Sixth Street
Each player is dealt one more face-up
card. The betting starts from the player with the strongest exposed hand
and the round of betting continues.
Seventh Street
The players are dealt their final card,
face-down. The first person to bet is the one who started the betting on
the Sixth Street, then the final betting round continues.
Showdown
Once the final round of betting is
complete, the player who has last bet or raised show their cards first
(if there were no bets during that round, the player in the earliest
seat is the first to show their cards). The player with the best (lowest)
5-card hand wins the pot.
Exceptions
Up to 8 players can participate in a
game of Stud (incl. Razz) but there are only 52 cards in the deck so it
is possible to run out of cards before the last deal. In such cases a
community face-up card is dealt instead and it is shared by all the
players who are still in the game.
